University of Alabama medical center names new CEO

The Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama, part of the University of Alabama health system, has named Patrick Trammell its new CEO, the Greenville Advocate reported Dec. 27.

Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon said the hospital's board of trustees voted unanimously to select Mr. Trammell, who was most recently the CEO of DeKalb Regional Medical Center in Fort Payne, Ala. The board began searching for CEO after the announcement that Chad French would vacate the position Oct. 30.

Mr. Trammell, who has an MBA and Master of Science in health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will take up his position in the first week of the new year, the report said.
