University Hospitals names new CIO

Cleveland-based University Hospitals has dubbed Joy Grosser CIO effective Sept. 12.

Ms. Grosser has more than two decades of experience in health IT leadership. She recently served as CIO of West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health, according to HealthDataManagement.com. She has also served as CIO of Kansas City, Mo.-based Health Midwest (which was bought by HCA), executive director of IT at Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System and CIO at University of California, Irvine Health System.

Ms. Grosser takes the helm from Sue Schade, who has been serving as University Hospitals’ interim CIO since January.
