UF Health Shands revamps leadership role, taps 2 executives

Gainesville, Fla.-based UF Health Shands has promoted two C-suite executives after divvying up leadership responsibilities in a new way.

Previously, the chief medical officer and chief of staff responsibilities were combined into one role. Now they will be separate, according to a Jan. 9 news release. 

Timothy Morey, MD, was promoted to chief medical officer, and will serve a two-year term. Currently, he works as chair of the anesthesiology department, a role he has held since 2013. 

Jennifer Hunt, MD, was tapped for chief of staff. She will simultaneously serve in her current role as chair of the department of pathology, immunology and laboratory medicine at UF College of Medicine.
