U.P. Health System names CEO, CFO at Bell Hospital

Brentwood, Tenn.-based Duke LifePoint, which owns Bell Hospital, located in Ishpeming, Mich., Marquette (Mich.) General Hospital and Portage Health, located in Hancock, Mich., has announced the three hospitals will join together under a new name, U.P. Health System, according to a recent report.

Mitch Leckelt, who has been serving as Bell Hospital’s interim CEO since July, has been appointed CEO of the hospital. Before stepping in as the hospital’s interim CEO, Mr. Leckelt previously served as assistant administrator at MGH.

Steve Embree will serve as regional CFO for the three hospitals. Mr. Embree, also a CPA, will oversee the finance departments at each hospital.
