Nilesh Desai was appointed chief pharmacy officer of University of Miami (Fla.) Health System, according to an April 8 news release shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Desai joins the university-based system from Baptist Health in Kentucky and Indiana, where he served as chief pharmacy officer.
In his new role, he will oversee strategy, integration and delivery of pharmacy services across UHealth, as well as financial performance, revenue optimization and expense management for the pharmacy enterprise, according to the release.
At Baptist Health, he oversaw pharmacy services across eight hospitals, as well as infusion, specialty and community pharmacy operations, according to the release. UHealth is the University of Miami’s academic health system and the only university-based system in South Florida, according to its website.
