Dr. Steele will continue to serve as TMC CMO in addition to his other responsibilities as University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine associate dean of TMC programs and University Physician Associates executive medical director, according to TMC.
As COO/CMO, Dr. Steele will be responsible for the clinical and business operations of TMC. He intends to focus initially on quality, productivity, patient safety and satisfaction, and patient throughput, according to the hospital.
Dr. Steele has served on the faculty in the department of emergency medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine/TMC since his graduation from residency in 1983. He is currently a professor in the department of emergency medicine and served as the emergency medicine residency program director from 1990 and as chairman of the department from 1996 to 2000.
