Kansas City, Mo.-based Truman Medical Centers has appointed Charles "Charlie" Shields president and CEO.
Mr. Shields currently serves as COO of TMC Lakewood. He previously served on the management team of Heartland Health in St. Joseph, Mo. Mr. Shields also served in the Missouri House of Representatives from 1991 to 2002 and in the Missouri State Senate from 2002 to 2010.
He is taking over duties for John Bluford III, who announced plans to retire in July.
