Trinity Health adds 6 to exec team for newly created Michigan health system

Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health selected the executive team that will lead its new 10-hospital organization created by the merger of two of its Michigan health systems — Saint Joseph Mercy Health System in Livonia and Mercy Health in Muskegon, Mich.

The statewide executive team includes:

• CFO: Michael Gusho, former CFO for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and interim CFO for Mercy Health since September 2017
• Chief clinical officer: Rosalie Tocco-Bradley, PhD, MD, who has worked as CMO of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor in Ypsilanti, Mich., and of St. Joseph Mercy Livingston in Howell, Mich., as well as chief clinical officer for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System
• Chief integration officer: Mary Boyd, who previously served as executive vice president of regional network and system development for Mercy Health
• Chief human resources officer: Ane McNeil, who most recently served as chief human resources officer for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System
• Chief marketing and communications officer: Michele Szczypka, formerly chief marketing officer for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System
• General counsel: Sally Guindi, who led the legal team and governance for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System for several years

The executives assumed their new roles Jan. 1. The move to merge Saint Joseph Mercy Health System and Mercy Health is part of Trinity Health's "national strategy to integrate teams and resources to serve communities better," according to a press release.

"These leaders have proven ability in their respective areas to advance strategic partnerships, growth initiatives and payer strategies in order to create a strong, people-centered care delivery network across Michigan," said Rob Casalou, president and CEO of Mercy Health and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.
