Hospital board chair Larry Schallock told U-T San Diego that a complaint was made on the hospital’s whistle-blower line, accusing Mr. Anderson of “improprieties.” An outside firm was hired to investigate the complaint. The investigation uncovered issues with regard to some decisions made by Mr. Anderson. Mr. Schallock did not say what facts were uncovered by the investigation, according to the report.

In September, Mr. Anderson was put on paid administrative leave. Casey Fatch, the hospital’s COO, is serving as interim CEO.
