Travis Capers tapped to lead SSM Health’s St. Mary’s Hospital: 3 things to know

Travis Capers has been named president of SSM Health’s St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, effective March 28.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Capers.

1. Prior to joining St. Louis-based SSM Health, he was CEO of Ochsner Medical Center, part of Ochsner Health System, a nonprofit healthcare system in New Orleans. There, he oversaw strategy and operations for the medical center as well as five satellite facilities.

2. Previously, he was COO of Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., part of the Nashville-based Hospital Corporation of America system.

3. Mr. Capers earned a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
