Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center names new SVP of research: 3 points

Lubbock-based Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center selected Quentin Smith, PhD, to serve as senior vice president of research.

Here are three points:

1. Dr. Smith currently serves as dean of the TTUHSC School of Pharmacy. He will continue to serve in that role in addition to his new duties.

2. He came to TTUHSC in 1997, prior to which he worked at the National Institutes of Aging of the National Institutes of Health, where he was a tenured research investigator and section chief.

3. He is a fellow of the Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and received the meritorious manuscript award from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2014.
