Ms. McCabe previously served as CFO of Nacogdoches Memorial Health for more than four years, according to her LinkedIn page. She is also chief administrative officer of the hospital district, a spokesperson for Nagogdoches County Hospital District said in a statement shared with Becker’s.
The leadership and hospital operation changes come after Lion Star filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November. The filing stated that the hospital owed up to $50 million to creditors.
“This was a very difficult decision on the part of the hospital’s leadership, but one which was necessary to allow the hospital to continue to serve the medical needs of the community,” a Lion Star spokesperson said in a statement shared with Becker’s.
The hospital district voted to adopt the majority of Lion Star’s existing administrative policies with the exclusion of keeping the district’s human resource policies during a March 5 meeting.
The district will take over the hospital at 12:01 a.m. March 11, according to officials at the meeting.
