Texas Health Presbyterian Denton president resigns: 4 things to know

Stan Morton, president of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton (Texas), has resigned from his post, effective Dec. 31, according to a Denton Record-Chronicle report.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Morton.

1. He has served as president of the hospital since spring 2003.

2. Mr. Morton's accomplishments during his tenure include the following, according to the report.

  • Helping with the hospital's ownership transition from Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems to Arlington-based Texas Health Resources in 2009
  • Leading efforts to open the new hospital along North Interstate 35

3. Of his decision to resign, Mr. Morton told the Denton Record-Chronicle, "We made a decision earlier this year, my wife and I did, that we wanted to take some time for ourselves and enjoy life for a bit before I enter my next professional chapter."

4. He does not have a new position lined up at this time.
