Tennessee hospital CEO retires

Thomas Kidd, CEO of Macon Community Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn., was honored with a retirement celebration Jan. 5, according to the Macon County Chronicle.

The Tennessee Hospital Association wrote in a Facebook post that association staff joined many in the Macon County community to celebrate Mr. Kidd's career.

"Thomas built an employee-friendly culture in his 19-year career with the hospital," the association wrote. "Sen. Ken Yager and Rep. Kelly Keisling presented Mr. Kidd with a proclamation from the Tennessee General Assembly commending him for his successful career in his rural healthcare leadership. THA wishes Thomas well in his well-deserved retirement."

Mr. Kidd, who received this year's Tennessee Hospital Association Small and Rural Hospital Leadership Award, joined Macon Community Hospital in 2004 as CFO. He was selected as CEO in 2017.

Macon Community Hospital CFO Scott Tongate was chosen to succeed Mr. Kidd as CEO, effective Jan. 8, according to a hospital news release.
