Sweeny Community Hospital CEO Scott Briner to depart

Scott Briner, CEO of Sweeny (Texas) Community Hospital, is stepping down from the role to pursue entrepreneurship opportunities.

Mr. Briner became CEO of the 20-bed critical access hospital in 2016. He was previously vice president of professional services at Lake Jackson, Texas-based CHI St. Luke’s Health-Brazosport.

During his tenure at Sweeny Community Hospital, he oversaw the onboarding of a new emergency room physician group and played a key role in securing a U.S. Department of Agriculture loan to build a replacement campus.

Kelly Park, RN, chief nursing officer of the hospital, will be become interim CEO. Mr. Briner will assist in the transition of leadership.
