Dr. Green was placed on administrative leave in August, along with Wayne Stockbridge, chief administrative and human resources officer. They were suspended during a review of operational and administrative issues at the organization, although officials have not specified those issues.
Dr. Green told South Shore Health Oct. 4 that he will be leaving the organization.
“We thank Dr. Green for his service and wish him well,” the health system said in a statement obtained by The Patriot Ledger.
He became president and CEO of South Shore Health in 2016.
“South Shore Health System is an outstanding institution,” a statement from Dr. Green said.. “I am proud and honored to have had the opportunity to lead the system over the past four years, during which it has become a leading community-based healthcare provider and is well-positioned for future growth.”
Rose Di Pietro, RN, a former South Shore Health executive, has been serving as interim CEO since August. She will continue to lead the health system until a permanent replacement is named.
Health system officials did not comment on whether Mr. Stockbridge is still on leave.
