Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Deveny assumed the top post at the health system in February 2017, following the resignation of Thomas Malone, MD.
2. He came to Summa Health from Charlottesville, Va.-based Locus Health, a software provider focused on population health, where he was president.
3. He has also previously worked at Summa Health, serving in numerous roles, including vice president of clinical services and service lines.
4. During his tenure as interim leader, the health system has improved its financial situation, showing an operating margin of $17.5 million through August 2018, up $50 million from the same period last year.
5. Additionally, the organization has started searching for a potential health system partner under Dr. Deveny’s leadership.
