Summa Health CEO Tom Strauss to retire by 2015

The president and CEO of Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System, Tom Strauss, is retiring Dec. 31.

Mr. Strauss has led Summa Health for 15 years. Upon his retirement, he will still be involved in community engagement with the Summa Foundation, according to a system news release.

Before he joined Summa Health in 1999, Mr. Strauss served as president of four-hospital Meridia Health Services in Cleveland.

Summa Health is in the process of forming a search committee to find Mr. Strauss’ successor with a focus on internal candidates.
