Stanford Health Care names new CEO

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, Calif., has appointed David Entwistle as president and CEO, effective July 5.

Mr. Entwistle will replace Stanford Health Care's current interim President and CEO, Mariann Byerwalter. Ms. Byerwalter has served in her position since January when former CEO Amir Dan Rubin took a position as executive vice president at UnitedHealth Group.

Mr. Entwistle is currently CEO of Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics, a position he has held since 2007.

Before his tenure at UUHC, Mr. Entwistle held various executive positions — including COO — at Madison-based University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, as well as at Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope National Medical Center.
