Here are five notes:
1. Earlier in 2018, Mr. Grissler decided to retire, and he set up a transition plan along with the hospital’s board. He assumed the top post at the hospital in 2001
2. Kathleen Silard, BSN, RN, executive vice president and COO of the hospital, will succeed Mr. Grissler as president and CEO.
3. Ms. Silard joined the hospital as executive vice president and COO in 2003, and since then, she has helped oversee the facility master planning and opening of the new Stamford Hospital as well as helped develop the Stamford Health Heart & Vascular Institute and Cohen Pediatric Emergency Department.
4. She previously worked at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, N.J., where she also served as executive vice president and COO.
5. She holds a master of science degree in healthcare administration from Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y.
