St. Francis Hospital taps new COO: 5 notes

St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Ga., appointed Alan E. George COO, according to a Ledger-Enquirer report.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. George most recently served as CEO of Rockdale Regional Medical Center in Conyers, Ga.

2. Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health, St. Francis Hospital’s parent, sold Rockdale Medical Center to Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare. Mr. George remained with LifePoint Health after the sale.

3. Mr. George has previous experience serving as CEO at Palestine (Texas) Regional Medical Center and Lakeside Hospital in Bastrop, Texas, among other facilities.

4. He earned his master’s degree in healthcare administration and MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

5. Mr. George is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
