St. Elizabeth CEO shakes up executive team: 7 things to know

Garren Colvin, president and CEO of Edgewood, Ky.-based St. Elizabeth Healthcare, has announced changes with his administrative team.

Here are seven things to know about the changes.

1. Gary Blank has been promoted to executive vice president and COO. Mr. Blank has served St. Elizabeth as chief clinical officer and CNO. He has years of experience in the emergency department and in the finance department.

2. Chris Carle will become the first president and CEO of St. Elizabeth Provider Network, the St. Elizabeth Physician Hospital Organization. Mr. Carle has many years of senior leadership experience, including his years as a CEO with exceptional physician relation skills, St. Elizabeth said.

3. Robert Prichard, MD, will become the chief clinical integration officer. Dr. Prichard brings a very broad background to this new role. He has been a practicing physician as well as the CEO of a large physician group and CMO of St. Elizabeth.

4. Bruno Giacomuzzi will become COO of St. Elizabeth Florence (Ky.) and St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas (Ky.) as well as senior vice president for professional services. Mr. Giacomuzzi joined St. Elizabeth in February 2015 and has more than 25 years of healthcare experience and leadership in both operations and patient services.

5. Lisa Frey will be promoted to vice president of legal services/general counsel. Ms. Frey has done a remarkable job with the St. Elizabeth risk management and corporate compliance functions, according to the health system.

6. Joseph Bozelli will become vice president of mission and pastoral care. As a mission-driven organization, it is paramount to have this new role on the leadership council, according to St. Elizabeth.

7. Of the changes, Mr. Colvin said, "It is my strongly held belief that we have the best team in healthcare. I believe these changes will continue to position us very well for the future. These talented individuals together with the rest of our dedicated leadership team, physicians, associates and volunteers will work hand-in-hand to pursue our collective mission of providing comprehensive and compassionate care that improves the health of the people we serve, today and into the future."
