SSM Healthcare CEO Resigns

Sister Mary Jean Ryan plans to resign as president and CEO of St. Louis-based SSM Health Care within two years, according to a report in the St. Louis Business Journal.

Sister Ryan has been CEO of SSM since 1986, when the health system was formed.

William Thompson, who currently serves as senior vice president for strategic development, will be promoted to president and chief operating officer as part of the transition, though Sister Ryan will retain the CEO title during the transition.
