SSM Health taps regional chief nursing officer

Tammy Jackson, BSN, RN, has been named vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer of SSM Health in Southern Illinois — a division of the St. Louis-based system that includes two regional hospitals in Southern Illinois.

Ms. Jackson has spent more than 15 years in nursing leadership roles and has led a range of programs focused on quality and safety, as well as leadership development and employee engagement. She began her healthcare career at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Mo., in 2009. 

She succeeds Jane Ritter, RN, who had been serving as interim vice president of patient care services and CNO since June 2022.
