SSM Health names new chief clinical officer: 4 takeaways

St. Louis-based SSM Health selected Matthew Hanley, MD, to serve as chief clinical officer.

1. Dr. Hanley most recently served as CMO of Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health’s Metro Group.

2. He served on the board of Atrium’s clinically integrated network, a Medicare ACO.

3. He was previously CMO of Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and vice president of medical affairs at Centra Health in Lynchburg, Va.

4. A board-certified emergency medicine physician, Dr. Hanley holds an MBA from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
