South Dakota council ousts hospital’s board, CEO

Redfield, S.D.-based Community Memorial Hospital’s board and CEO are out after the city’s council decided to upheave the hospital’s leadership, according to the Aberdeen News.

At an Aug. 13 meeting, the council removed all six members of the nonprofit, city-owned hospital’s board of directors and replaced them with city council members. In addition, the city council ousted its CEO Michael O’Keefe, effective Aug. 14.

Little detail was given about the change. The hospital’s new leadership includes Redfield finance officer Adam Hanson, who will become interim CEO, according to the Aberdeen News.
