Georgetown, S.C.-based Tidelands Health has named Jay Hinesley CEO, effective July 1, as part of the next phase of its partnership with the Medical University Hospital Authority.
Mr. Hinesley has served as CEO of Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Health’s Pee Dee Division since 2021, according to a June 16 MUSC Health news release.
In that role, he provided executive leadership for MUSC Health Florence (S.C.) Medical Center, Black River Medical Center in Cades, S.C., Marion Medical Center in Mullins, S.C., and the Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion in Florence.
Before joining MUSC Health, Mr. Hinesley served as president of Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, Tenn., and held CEO roles at healthcare facilities in Alabama and Tennessee.
He succeeds Bruce Bailey, who joined the organization in 1999.
Jason Cox, COO of MUSC Health’s Pee Dee Division, will serve as interim CEO of the division following Mr. Hinesley’s transition. The leadership change reflects continued collaboration between MUHA and Tidelands Health as the organizations work to expand access to care and improve health outcomes across the region, the release said.
