Here are five things to know about Dr. Ranney.
1. He most recently was CMO of Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix.
2. Previously, he held CMO positions with Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis and at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska.
3. He also was vice president of medical affairs at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb.
4. His new role encompasses improving publicly reported metrics, and he also will assist in the recruitment and retention of medical staff, Seton said.
5. Dr. Ranney earned a medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.
