Nicole Dockery, MSN, RN, has been appointed vice president and president of Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, Va., effective immediately.
Ms. Dockery will also continue serving as vice president and chief nursing officer, providing continuity in clinical leadership at the hospital, according to a Sentara news release shared with Becker’s on March 11.
She succeeds David Masterson, who served as interim hospital president since July and retired from Sentara in March.
Ms. Dockery joined Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in 2009 as an intensive care unit nurse. She moved into leadership in 2012 as director of patient care services and was named vice president and chief nursing officer in 2021.
Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health employs 34,000 people and operates 12 hospitals across Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina.
