Andy Munce, MSN, RN, has been named president and CEO of Sanford Health’s Sioux Falls, S.D., region after serving in the role on an interim basis.
Mr. Munce joined Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health in 2004 as a registered nurse and most recently served as COO of the region, according to an April 17 health system news release.
He succeeds Paul Hanson, who stepped down after serving as president and CEO since 2013. Mr. Hanson said in a Jan. 31 LinkedIn post that he has spent 37 years in hospital administration and is considering opportunities both within and outside healthcare.
Sanford Health is the largest rural health system in the U.S., with 56 hospitals and more than 270 clinic locations, according to the release.
