Here are five things to know about Dr. Bode.
1. The Tennessee regional hospitals he will be CMO for include Saint Thomas River Park in McMinnville; Saint Thomas DeKalb in Smithville; Saint Thomas Stones River in Woodbury; and Saint Thomas Highlands in Sparta.
2. Dr. Bode most recently was senior vice president and CMO of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Memorial Health.
3. After completing his residency in family medicine at the University of California, Davis, Dr. Bode joined the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned officer, achieving Major ranking. He completed his military service in 2000.
4. Dr. Bode worked at Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health as an assistant professor of family medicine following his military service. Dr. Bode also worked as chief of hospital medicine at Baptist Health, later serving as chief of hospital medicine and chief medical information officer at the hospital.
5. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a medical degree from New Orleans-based Tulane University School of Medicine.
