Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital names COO, emergency services nursing director: 5 notes

Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn., appointed Thomas Roddy as COO and Susan Miller, BSN, director of nursing in emergency services, according to a WGN Radio report.

1. Mr. Roddy previously served as COO of Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., and CEO at HealthSouth Montgomery (Ala.).

2. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

3. Mr. Roddy holds an MBA from Murfreesboro-based Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s of science in health administration and informatics degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

4. Ms. Miller formerly served as executive director of nursing and director of emergency services at Elkhart General Hospital.

5. She also has experience as director of critical care services at Presence Health’s United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Ill.
