Deirdre Blaus was appointed chief administrative officer at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, N.J.

Ms. Blaus has served in the role on an interim basis since June. She also previously served in other roles at RWJUH Somerset, including vice president of operations, vice president of cancer services and business development, assistant vice president of cancer services, and director of the hospital’s Steeplechase Cancer Center.

“In her nine years in various leadership roles at RWJUH Somerset, Deirdre has been instrumental in the hospital’s growth to better serve our community, expanding services, recruiting new medical specialists and implementing the latest technologies,” Bill Arnold, president of the Southern Region for RWJBarnabas Health and CEO of RWJUH in New Brunswick, N.J., said in an April 3 hospital news release. “In particular, she has led the expansion of the hospital’s cancer services, ensuring patients have comprehensive care close to home. She will continue to build on these accomplishments, with a focus on providing the highest quality care to our community.”

RWJUH Somerset, a 343-bed regional hospital, is part of West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health.
