Prior to this, Dr. Almeida served as the regional chairman of emergency medicine for the hospital as well as Monmouth Medical Center, another RWJBarnabas facility in Longbranch, N.J., according to a Dec. 28 news release.
As chief medical officer, Dr. Almeida will provide medical oversight, expertise and be responsible for clinical direction at the hospital.
His appointment to the role is effective immediately.
