Rush University Medical Center names new CIO

Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center appointed Shafiq Rab, MD, senior vice president and CIO, effective Jan. 9, 2017.

Dr. Rab currently serves as CIO and senior vice president of information technology at Hackensack (N.J.) University Health Network. He has also served as CIO at Middletown, N.Y.-based Greater Hudson Valley Health System, Passaic, N.J.-based St. Mary’s Hospital and Belle Mead, N.J.-based East Mountain Hospital.

“I am very excited to welcome Shafiq Rab to Rush,” Rush University Medical Center President Michael Dandorph said. “His extensive professional experience combined with his unique medical and public health background is a perfect fit with our mission and vision.”
