Mr. Lundquist told the hospital’s board of trustees Nov. 1 that he is resigning so that he can spend more time with his family in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Mr. Lundquist became the hospital’s leader in March 2016. During his tenure, he helped hire several new specialists and changed patient care delivery standards and culture.
Before joining Rome Memorial Hospital, he served as CEO of hospitals in Oklahoma, New Jersey and New York, including Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley in Kingston, N.Y.
Mark Murphy, chief strategy officer at Syracuse, N.Y.-based St. Joseph’s Health, will become interim president and CEO. Rome Memorial Hospital is an affiliate of St. Joseph’s Health.
