Rex Healthcare CFO takes position with Orlando Health: 3 things to know

Bernadette Spong is leaving Raleigh, N.C.-based Rex Healthcare to become CFO of Orlando (Fla.) Health, according to News & Observer.

Ms. Spong, who has served as CFO of Rex, will remain at Rex through July. Erick Hawkins has assumed the CFO role.

Here are three things to know about Ms. Spong.

1. In her new role at Orlando Health, Ms. Spong will report to former Rex President David Strong, who recently left Rex to serve Orlando Health as its president and CEO. 

2. Ms. Spong was CFO of Rex for 10 years.

3.. Ms. Spong was recently appointed senior vice president of financial shared services and CFO of network hospitals within the Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care system. In that role, she was to oversee finances for UNC, according to the report.
