Providence names South Division chief executive

Laureen Driscoll, MSN, RN, was named chief executive for the Providence South Division, which includes 17 hospitals in Northern and Southern California.

Ms. Driscoll will begin in the role June 8, according to a news release. She has served as the interim executive for the past five months.

Ms. Driscoll began her healthcare career as a nurse before moving into administrative leadership positions, according to the release. Before serving in the interim role for the Providence south division, she was chief executive for Providence’s Northern California region. She also previously served as president of Tacoma General and Allenmore Hospitals, part of Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System. 

Providence is a 51-hospital national, nonprofit Catholic health system based in Renton, Wash.
