Providence Healthcare Network names Philip Patterson president: 5 things to know

Waco, Texas-based Providence Healthcare Network selected Philip A. Patterson to serve as president, effective Feb. 26. Providence is a part of St. Louis-based Ascension.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Patterson most recently served as chief administrative officer and chief strategy officer at Trinity Health in Minot, N.D.

2. His previous experience includes serving as president and CEO of Owensboro (Ky.) Health and CEO of Bon Secours Charity Health System, part of Valhalla, N.Y.-based Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

3. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served as president of the ACHE’s Minnesota State chapter.

4. He served on the boards of the Kentucky Healthcare Collaborative and Suburban New York Hospital Association.

5. Mr. Patterson holds a MBA from Tuscaloosa-based University of Alabama and a master of health administration degree from Atlanta-based Georgia State University.
