Ms. Fisher’s “last day with [Pittsburgh-based] UPMC will be June 30, but she has begun to transition responsibilities,” a UPMC spokesperson told the publication via email.

Mike Corso, vice president of operations at UPMC’s Altoona and Bedford hospitals, was selected as interim president of the two facilities while a search is conducted for Ms. Fisher’s successor, the spokesperson said.

Ms. Fisher became president of UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford in January 2019, after serving in the COO role.

Her promotion from COO to president came as Jerry Murray, the hospitals’ former president, became vice president of special projects for the Central region of UPMC.

Before becoming COO of UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford, Ms. Fisher served as COO at Williamsport, Pa.-based UPMC Susquehanna. She also previously served as CEO of Wellsboro, Pa.-based Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.
