Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. Shride most recently served as chief executive for a medical technology company.
2. He also worked with Grand Rapid, Mich.-based Spectrum Health for a number of years.
3. In his new role as president, Mr. Shride will be responsible for day-to-day operations at the hospital as well as for furthering the hospital’s engagement with the Kankakee community.
4. He earned a master’s degree in health administration from Saint Louis University.
