Mr. Buttell, who assumed the role at the end of June, was previously COO of Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo. While there, he oversaw a hospital expansion and the development of a new freestanding Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute. He was vice president of business development for Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.
Mr. Buttell holds a master of health services administration degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City and a law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in Lawrence.
