Penn Highlands Healthcare selects revenue management service line VP

DuBois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare named John Bruyere revenue management service line vice president, reports The Progress.

Here are five things to know about Mr. Bruyere.

1. In his new role, he will oversee revenue-related functions such as scheduling, registration, insurance verification/authorization, medical records, business services and collections for service lines in system locations, according to the report. He will also aim to improve existing billing and collection processes, and he will monitor revenue performance at Penn Highlands hospitals, the report states.

2. Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Mr. Bruyere was vice president of revenue cycle at McLeod Health in Florence, S.C.

3. He also previously serviced as administrative director of revenue cycle at Bon Secours Health System in Venice, Fla.

4. His other previous positions include executive director of patient financial services at Sisters of Providence Health System in Holyoke, Mass.; director of non-acute business services at Boston-based Partners HealthCare; and controller at Mediplex Rehab – Bristol, in New Bedford, Mass., according to the report.

5. Mr. Bruyere earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Rhode Island College in Providence and a master's degree in business administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
