Here are five things to know about Mr. Shipley.
1. He first day on the job was June 27.
2. In this new role, Mr. Shipley will serve as a key liaison between PeaceHealth and the federal government, as well as the state governments of Alaska, Oregon and Washington.
3. Prior to taking on his new role, Mr. Shipley was chief of staff in the office of Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D).
4. He’s also served as legislative director in the office of former Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber, as deputy chief of staff in the office of former Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski (D), and as director of legislation in the office of Oregon Senate President Peter Courtney (D).
5. Additionally, he was associate vice president of government relations for Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University.
