OSF Sacred Heart names 2 executives

After serving in the role on an interim basis for a month, J.T. Barnhart has been named permanent president of OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical in Danville, Ill. The hospital also appointed Deb McCarter, DNP, RN, vice president and chief nursing officer.

Both Mr. Barnhart and Dr. McCarter will continue serving in their leadership roles at OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, Ill., where Mr. Barnhart is president and Dr. McCarter is CNO.

Mr. Barnhart joined Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HeathCare in February. Previously, he was CEO of Cleveland, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare System. Dr. McCarter has been with OSF since 2020, and previously served as associate vice president of patient care services at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
