Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University selected Amy Shlossman to serve as executive vice president and CEO, effective Aug. 31.
Ms. Shlossman joins OHSU from Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health, where she has served as senior vice president since 2023, according to a June 12 announcement from OHSU President Shereef Elnahal, MD.
She has also served as president of Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center in Baltimore. During her tenure, patient safety performance advanced from last in the state to first, and employee engagement scores increased to nine points above national healthcare benchmarks, the OHSU announcement said.
LifeBridge Health COO Leslie Simmons will serve as interim president of Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center, according to a June 12 health system news release.
Before joining LifeBridge Health, Ms. Shlossman served as COO for Banner University Medical Center Phoenix and Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Ariz., and as system co-lead for care delivery during Banner Health’s COVID-19 response.
Dr. Elnahal thanked Renee Edwards, MD, who will serve as acting CEO through August. In April, Dr. Elnahal told staff that Tarek Salaway, who became CEO in December, was no longer serving in the role.
