Ohio State cancer center names chief medical officer

Columbus-based Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute has appointed Kami Maddocks, MD, chief medical officer. 

Kimryn Rathmell, MD, PhD, CEO of The James, shared news of Dr. Maddocks’ appointment in a June 9 LinkedIn post. 

Dr. Maddocks joined Ohio State University in 2008 and serves as medical director of infusion services at The James.

She succeeds David Cohn, MD, as chief medical officer, who has held the position since 2018. 

Dr. Cohn began serving as interim CEO of the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in 2022, prior to Dr. Rathmell’s appointment in 2025. He currently serves as COO of The James.
