Ohio hospital CEO to retire

Bill Sheron is retiring as president and CEO of Wooster (Ohio) Community Hospital.

Mr. Sheron announced his retirement plans after four decades as a hospital CEO, three of them at Wooster, according to a Feb. 28 news release. 

Scott Boyes, CFO and COO at Wooster, has been selected to succeed Mr. Sheron after a new CFO is hired, according to the release. The hospital did not provide a specific timetable for the transition.

Mr. Sheron has helmed the Wooster hospital since 1994. In the release, he pointed to various accomplishments during his tenure, including the construction of a new patient tower, the creation of a cancer center, the recruitment of cardiology physicians, and the development of cardiology services. He said he will continue to serve on local boards.
