The division is part of NYU Langone Health’s department of medicine, and will expand its existing hospitalist program, which Dr. Hochman established in 2004.

The division of hospital medicine will focus on improving patient care through research, and provide educational opportunities to hospital faculty, such as mentoring, scholarship and career pathways, according to a May 10 announcement.

Dr. Hochman has grown NYU Langone’s hospitalist group to more than 40 since becoming the first in 2004.

Dr. Hochman earned her medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed her residency and chief residency at NYU/Bellevue Hospital in New York City.
