NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst expands exec team

NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst recently added three new clinical leaders to its executive team to focus on safety, quality and health equity work.

Hadeel Alkhairw, MD, was named chief quality officer of the New York City-based hospital, according to an Aug. 15 news release. Dr. Alkhairw is an assistant professor of medicine at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine in New York City. She also serves as clinical director of Elmhurst Hospital’s safety net clinic and the street outreach and wellness program.

Elmhurst Hospital also appointed Thaina Rousseau-Pierre, DO, as patient safety officer and chief equity officer. She is a board-certified pediatrician at the hospital and serves as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine. Dr. Rousseau-Pierre also holds a patient safety certification from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.

Gail Young, DNP, RN, will serve as deputy chief nursing officer. Dr. Young first joined Elmhurst Hospital as an emergency department nurse before becoming a house nursing supervisor and an associate director of nursing for ambulatory care.
